About Fahrenheit Music

Welcome to my blog! At the suggestion of a DJ friend, I created this blog to document my own foray into the world of DJing. I live in Brooklyn and practice as often as possible at the Bushwick warehouse where I first took lessons. When I can, I record my mixes and post them here to get feedback and help others learn about my process. This blog will feature current musical obsessions and notable music-related experiences.

Equipment: I am learning on CDJ Pioneer-2000s and a Allen & Heath XONE:92 mixer. I use Sennheiser HD25-1 ii headphones and an iRig to record on my iPhone. (I use a free program called “RecMix” to upload and publish my mixes.)

Sound: The music I enjoy includes disco, house, funk, tech-house, boogie, motown, hip-hop, nu disco, rock, punk. The music I play tends to fall into more than one of these categories during a given mix.

This blog’s name [UPDATE]: After a couple of months of trying it out, I’ve found that Bad Liar, while still a great name, does not feel quite right. Mira Fahrenheit will be my name for playing music going forward. I hope you like it.

Please be  both respectful and direct when commenting or inquire on this blog’s content, and do so with abandon. I love and appreciate feedback and am happy to hear new perspectives. Teach me something!

Thank you, and enjoy!
